Our Vision

Our vision is a world where widows receive the care, support, and recognition they deserve. We strive to create a society that acknowledges the unique struggles faced by widows and actively work towards eliminating the stigma and discrimination associated with widowhood.

In Teso, widows often face severe financial hardship and social isolation due to the loss of their primary breadwinner.

We strive to provide widows with comprehensive support services that address their immediate and long-term needs. This includes psychological and emotional counselling, legal assistance, financial guidance, and access to healthcare resources.

TEWIDI Legal status:

Regulated on the basis of the “Non-Government Organizations Act, 2016.”

TEWIDI is a National NGO registered with the NGO Board Reg No: S.5914/5828 operating in Teso region. TEWIDI is founded by a widow’s movement with the aim of improving the living conditions of the widows and orphans in particular and the community of Teso in General.

TEWIDI Operates in the Eastern region in the Districts of Katakwi, Amuria, Kaberemaido, Kumi, Bukedea, Ngora, Serere, Kalaki Soroti and Pallisa. The Key programmes of TEWIDI are Health, Education, and Food security, with its headquarters in Soroti Town.
